Vin Crosbie, the newspaperman-turned-digital guru and educator, has some advice for newspapers: Stop whining, stop feeling sorry for yourselves, and change your business practices.
To wit: If you don't link people linking to your site, take it down; if you think your print sales are hurt by digital, take it down; if you think it's killing you to give it away, charge.
His conclusion about those three ideas: They're stupid.
Instead, he suggests using the available time to figure out a new business model.
