An intriguing interview with Evan Williams of Twitter has given rise in the last couple of days to speculation that the service is about to introduce a local news alert service. Presumably this is part of Twitter's coming of age in order to gain some sort of business model.
Details are very, very sketchy, but this Techcrunch report takes it along a fair amount. It's a file worth watching in the days ahead.
