Gina Chen, posting on her Save The Media blog, smartly bypasses the usual hand-wringing and argues that it's just time to get on the case --- that is, it's time for journalists to knuckle down and save the media.
She produces a list of pursuits --- mainly educative --- to drive professional improvement without driving costs through the ceiling. There's a nice message inside the posting, too: Ask people for help. In all the time I've been in journalism, I haven't seen more people willing to help more people. It's almost as if the competitive, chauvinistic trait has been wiped out.
