The entries came in over the weekend for the Knight News Challenge, the $5-million fund for innovative digital journalism projects (mine here). The highest profile of all entries is the joint New York Times/Pro Publica entry to generate a primary source archive. It assumes that journalists will upload their used records into a large public file. The project seeks $1 million of the fund for the project. In perusing the proposals, it's clear the competition is attracting a lot of attention from the big players all of a sudden.
