Spinspotter is in very beta, and at first I thought it was a hoax. It's designed to spot spin in news content to permit the user to understand the journalism's deficiencies. It works off the back of tenets of journalism espoused by the Society of Professional Journalists: reporter's voice, passive voice, biased source, disregarded context, and lack of balance. Its algorithm senses weaknesses and produces a few ways to critique the source.
In case you're suspicious of its origins, the co-founders are a progressive and a conservative.
