The Pew Internet & American Life Project released a report today chronicling the rapid growth in social media use in the U.S.
More than one-third of adults have a profile on a social network. And nearly 65 per cent of teenagers have a social network profile, indicating further growth to come.
The age gap is significant: 75 per cent of adults 18-24 but only 7 per cent of those 65 or older are into social media use.
Mostly the use is personal, and nearly 60 per cent of adults restrict access or some content within their profiles.
