Leonard Witt, scholar at Kenneshaw State University and blogger for PJNet, argues people will pay for high-quality journalism.
As quality becomes scarce, people will be forced to dig into their pockets to support the best material. He cites his own experience with iPhone and Sirius Radio, specifically how he chose to support a particular application in order to get the material he wanted. While he's in a minority on this right now, he thinks others will follow.
"The big boys have finally seen the light," he notes.
