In using it the last couple of days it is a clear improvement and a rival of other services that assemble personal dashboards. It assembles a stream of relevant headlines (how, it's not clear). It offers opportunities to accentuate certain preferred sources and demote others. It provides space for a focus on particular topic. It makes it easy to share content you find.
What isn't clear is where this leads for Google. Its iGoogle feature seems like it has a cousin and its new features seem very rivalrous to those of Yahoo in terms of aggregating relevant work.
