Google confirmed today that it's releasing in beta Tuesday a new browser, Chrome. It couldn't keep it secret much longer because a comic-book explanation of the browser was leaking through the blogosphere. The Wall Street Journal broke the story in mainstream media today and Google's official blog got it out there.
Google promises a browser that is clean, fast and addresses the new needs of the Internet without getting in the way. Each tab will be in its own sandbox, thus preventing one thing from crashing another.
I'll have to take someone else's word for its effectiveness because, well, there's no Mac version coming out (yet. Thanks to Bill Dunphy for pointing out that I'd not finished the point. Google says it's working on Mac and Linux versions and will show them off soon.)
