Everything, sort of, that you'd like to know about Google is rounded into a very sound presentation from the faberNovel organization in France. The most exceptional of the material in the slide show involves Google's business strategies.
This story in in the WSJ provide's a slightly different take in terms of the financial crisis and Google.

Notably:
- "In recent weeks, Mr. Schmidt has held meetings with top executives to determine where to focus investment more narrowly. Top priorities include display ads, which use graphics and appear on Web pages; advertising on mobile phones; and the company's online business software."
- Also notable for the newspaper industry ... the WSJ story indicates Google "would soon start showing ads to some users of its Google News service as well." ... this is something Google has only started testing on Google News in the last couple of months (ie. showing ads directly on Google News), to my knowledge.
