The French government has found a way to help the newspaper industry: It's going to give every 18-year-old a free newspaper subscription.
Nicolas Sarkozy, the president of France, says he wants to encourage the newspaper-reading habit at an early age. Teens will have their choice of papers and the government will pay for them to be delivered.
The government has also doubled its newspaper advertising and reduced news agent costs.
