Tina Brown, ex-Vanity Fair, ex-New Yorker, now Daily Beast editor, suggests that it's the bosses who need to walk the plank. She says she'd feel a little better if those leaving were the ones at the top killing ideas or foisting their own on people who she says know best.

The Tribune Co., owners of the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field, and dozens of television and radio stations, has filed for bankruptcy protection. The announcement came this morning.
The company is working with the Lazard investment bank and Sidney Austin law firm on financial options.

It stands to reason that in difficult times, people look to cocoon. We wouldn't know of Faith Popcorn otherwise.
New data is starting to indicate that people are turning to the one form of affordable entertainment in the economic downturn --- broadband --- and that they're looking at sites to help them be helped cheaply.
The MinOnline site extrapolates some traffic data at these sites, and while there are some anomalies, there are also some clear indications that people are beginning to use the Internet to help them stay engaged affordably in these harder times.
